Sysdig announced the launch of zero trust network security for Kubernetes. With total network visibility and automated rule creation, Sysdig reduces the time to implement network security from weeks to hours.
Healthcare delivery organizations have been busy increasing their network and systems security in the last year, though there is still much room for improvement, according to Forescout researchers. The bad news? Some network segmentation issues still crop up and HDOs still use insecure protocols for both medical and non-medical network communications, as well as for external communications.
"The Cisco Product Security Incident Response Team is not aware of any public announcements or malicious use of the vulnerability that is described in this advisory," according to Cisco in an update released on Wednesday. The most severe of these flaws includes a vulnerability in Cisco Firepower Chassis Manager, which exists in the Firepower Extensible Operating System and provides management capabilities.
Corero Network Security announces that it has released a major update to its SmartWall Threat Defense System. Corero's SmartWall Threat Defense System already delivers line-rate performance for the fastest, always-on, real-time DDoS protection but these new enhancements propel the solution to industry leading levels of accuracy and effectiveness for automatic DDoS detection and mitigation.
Ericsson is advancing 5G core network security for communications service providers through the launch of the cloud native Ericsson Packet Core Firewall. Ericsson's new solution, part of the Ericsson 5G platform, is aimed at enabling CSPs to pursue those opportunities not only through the best packet core network security capabilities, but also in the most cost-effective way for their business.
Gigamon announced the integration of Gigamon ThreatINSIGHT and Cisco SecureX to optimize network security through accelerated threat detection and response. Simplified network security - incident responders will have the data they need to effectively manage threats within one unified interface with seamless integration, thus eliminating the challenges of hopping between multiple piecemeal security solutions.
The carrier conducted trials ahead of 5G launches and says it is one of the first to pilot QKD in the US. Verizon on Thursday made two announcements related to security.
