Popular video conferencing app Zoom recently fixed a new security flaw that could have allowed potential attackers to crack the numeric passcode used to secure private meetings on the platform and snoop on participants. Zoom meetings are by default protected by a six-digit numeric password, but according to Tom Anthony, VP Product at SearchPilot who identified the issue, the lack of rate limiting enabled "An attacker to attempt all 1 million passwords in a matter of minutes and gain access to other people's private Zoom meetings."

As consumers' concerns about their digital privacy continue to grow and who is responsible for guarding it remains unclear, new research conducted by Ponemon Institute reveals a lack of empowerment consumers feel when it comes to their data privacy. 60% of consumers believe government regulation should help address the privacy risks facing consumers today, of which 34% say government regulation is needed to protect personal privacy and 26% believe a hybrid option should be pursued.
The survey found that there is a higher focus on migrating applications to the cloud than on efforts such as rolling out continuous integration and deployment and containers and container orchestration. Silos: Nearly half of companies report that their infrastructure can't keep up with app development needs, in part because of silos between applications and infrastructure teams.
