U.S. federal prosecutors have charged John McAfee, founder of cybersecurity firm McAfee, and his executive advisor Jimmy Gale Watson Jr for cryptocurrency fraud and money laundering. In total, McAfee, Watson, and other members of the McAfee Team were able to collect over $13 million from two cryptocurrency pump-and-dump schemes, according to court documents.
McAfee and Ingram Micro have announced an expanded worldwide relationship that builds on the transformation of the McAfee channel program. The new agreement will provide access to McAfee products and solutions across Ingram Micro's global distribution network, including its regional Cloud Marketplaces and Centers of Excellence.

McAfee announced that it is partnering with ECS to offer managed threat detection and response capabilities through McAfee MVISION EDR. ECS is the first North American MDR partner for McAfee MVISION EDR and will leverage MVISION EDR and supporting vendors to deliver a scalable, repeatable and customizable program that enables organizations to focus on only verified threats. "Protecting an organization against threats and attacks is a difficult endeavor that requires innovative technology coupled with technical know-how," said Anand Ramanathan, vice president of product and marketing, McAfee.
McAfee announced a five-year extended global agreement to be the provider of consumer security on ASUS. ASUS customers who purchase a new PC will receive a comprehensive security service pre-installed on their new PC, an optimized user experience, and will receive security tips and recommendations about how to stay protected from the latest threats. According to the recent McAfee Labs Threats Report: November 2020, 419 threats were discovered every minute representing a 12% increase from the first quarter of 2020.
Announced last month, MVISION CNAPP is a new McAfee security service that combines Cloud Security Posture Management, Cloud Workload Protection Platform, and application and data security into one solution. CNAPP integrates with several AWS deployment services such as AWS Systems Manager and AWS PrivateLink to make deployment easier and more secure, as well as security services like AWS Security Hub with broader workload and data context for enhanced security.
McAfee announced the launch of MVISION Marketplace, MVISION API and MVISION Developer Portal, part of the MVISION platform that will allow customers to quickly and easily integrate McAfee and trusted Security Innovation Alliance partner applications as well as privately developed applications within their current security environment. The newly launched open API framework enables organizations to respond faster to threats while reducing total cost of operations by automating MVISION Platform capabilities and integrating with their IT and security operations.
