"One of the things that makes Emotet so dangerous is that Emotet opens the door to other types of malware, as it were. Large criminal groups were given access to some of those systems for payment to install their own malware. Concrete examples of this are the financial malware Trickbot and the ransomware Ryuk.".
Austria-based crane manufacturer Palfinger on Monday informed customers that its IT infrastructure suffered serious disruptions as a result of an "Ongoing global cyber attack." "Currently, the PALFINGER AG and the majority of its sites are the target of an ongoing global cyber-attack with massive effects on its IT infrastructure. IBM announced the appointment of Martin Schroeter as Chief Executive Officer of the independent company that will be created following the separation of IBM's Managed Infrastructure Services business, effective January 15. Mr. Schroeter served as IBM's Senior Vice President, Global Markets, where he was responsible for IBM's global sales, client relationships and satisfaction, and worldwide geographic operations, before leaving IBM in June 2020.
