The websites of the Ukrainian military and at least two of the nation's biggest banks were knocked offline in a cyberattack today. On social media, it reported "Technical works on restoration of regular functioning" are underway after it was "Probably attacked by DDoS: an excessive number of requests per second was recorded." Other military sites are also apparently suffering outages.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation warned today that threat actors could potentially target the February 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and March 2022 Paralympics. The NCSC openly warns that Russian state-sponsored threat actors will likely conduct the attacks and reminds of the damage done in previous destructive cyberattacks, like NotPetya in 2017 and the GRU campaign against Georgia in 2019.
