Enterprise security vendor Cisco has shipped fixes for a wide range of severity vulnerabilities, including patches for high-risk flaws in the widely deployed Webex Player, SD-WAN software, and ASR 5000 series software. A total of three high-severity vulnerabilities were patched in Webex Player for Windows and macOS, two of which also affect the Webex Network Recording Player for those operating systems.

Networking equipment major Cisco has rolled out software updates to address multiple critical vulnerabilities impacting HyperFlex HX and SD-WAN vManage Software that could allow an attacker to perform command injection attacks, execute arbitrary code, and gain access to sensitive information. The HyperFlex HX command injection vulnerabilities, tracked as CVE-2021-1497 and CVE-2021-1498, affect all Cisco devices running HyperFlex HX software versions 4.0, 4.5, and those prior to 4.0.

Gartner calls this architecture Secure Access Service Edge, and predicts the SASE market will grow from $4.5B in 2021 to $10.9B in 2024, a 42% CAGR. According to Aryaka's 2021 State of the WAN report, which surveyed over 1,300 global enterprises, SASE deployment plans are accelerating, with 29 percent of enterprises stating that they are already deploying what they consider to be a SASE architecture.
