While the misconfiguration has been known since at least last year and Salesforce has taken steps to prevent incidents, data security company Varonis says it's still seeing many affected organizations.

Salesforce and Slack have entered into a definitive agreement under which Salesforce will acquire Slack. Under the terms of the agreement, Slack shareholders will receive $26.79 in cash and 0.0776 shares of Salesforce common stock for each Slack share, representing an enterprise value of approximately $27.7 billion based on the closing price of Salesforce's common stock on November 30, 2020.
Salesforce and Oracle are to face a GDPR lawsuit in London and the Netherlands that could cost them up to €10bn in fines, a legally aggressive privacy campaign group has claimed to The Register. Dr Rebecca Rumbul of the Privacy Collective told The Register: "We're looking at informed consent. Bluekai would collect data not just on one particular site but other sites too and then aggregate that data. The key thing is, under GDPR who is the data processor legally? You should be able to figure that out."
Tanium and Salesforce have come together in a strategic relationship to help solve one of today's most compelling and urgent problems: how does security manage a workforce that has migrated from in-house company desktops to remote personal devices. The amount of the investment has not been disclosed, but Tanium said it brings the company's valuation to around $9 billion.
Zoom announced on Wednesday that it has appointed Jason Lee as its chief information security officer. Lee, who will take on the role of Zoom's CISO on June 29, has 20 years of experience in information security and operating mission-critical services.
