Palo Alto Networks on Tuesday announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire enterprise SD-WAN solutions provider CloudGenix for roughly $420 million. Palo Alto Networks' Prisma Access solution enables organizations to protect remote networks and mobile users, and it provides secure access to enterprise applications.

AT&T, Palo Alto Networks and Broadcom have been developing a framework that enables organizations to deploy firewalls as software-based platforms instead of hardware appliances. The expansion, which should provide necessary protections on 5G networks, delivers a dynamically programmable basis with embedded security at the edge of the network and also allows for the deployment of future services.

Palo Alto Networks, the global cybersecurity leader, introduced Cortex XSOAR, an extended security orchestration, automation and response platform that empowers security leaders with instant capabilities against threats across their entire enterprise. Palo Alto Networks is redefining the security orchestration, automation and response category by making threat intelligence management a core component.

Trustwave unveiled a new portfolio of consulting and managed security services for Palo Alto Networks Prisma Cloud, the industry's most comprehensive cloud native security platform designed to govern access, protect data and secure applications. "Prisma Cloud, in combination with managed security services from partners like Trustwave, gives enterprises powerful options for helping ensure their cloud footprint remains secure," said Karl Soderlund, senior vice president of worldwide channel sales at Palo Alto Networks.

NetSecOPEN, the first industry organization focused on the creation of open, transparent network security performance testing standards, announced that Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks and SonicWall are the first three security vendors to achieve certified performance results through open, standardized testing developed by NetSecOPEN and adopted by the Internet Engineering Task Force. "Fortinet is committed to delivering the best threat protection performance and low latency that enterprises require via our purpose-built security processor technology. We are pleased to report the certified performance of Fortinet's FortiGate 500E Next-generation Firewall, tested under real-world conditions," said John Maddison, EVP of Products and CMO at Fortinet.
