Microsoft is now testing a new way to help Windows 11 users get more out of its Windows Search by displaying tip flyouts in the taskbar.
Starting today, Windows 11 will display tips prodding Windows Insiders who have installed the latest Windows 11 Dev build to search their PC and the web from the taskbar.
Microsoft says the tests are limited to the U.S., and the tips will only be displayed on devices belonging to English speakers enrolled in the Windows Insider program.
"To improve the value of Search shortcuts and reduce friction in the broader Windows Search experience, we are trying out different ways to provide tips on how to use Windows Search via the taskbar," Microsoft's Amanda Langowski and Brandon LeBlanc said.
This change is now rolling out to systems running Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25236, the latest Windows 11 build released to the Dev Channel.
Today, Microsoft is also rolling out a big Microsoft Store update allowing customers to discover and redeem offers available on their new PCs. The company also optimized the Microsoft Store's layout and rendering architecture for search card results to provide a smoother scrolling and resizing experience on low-powered devices.
