The developers of the phishing kits often add a backdoor in their code, obfuscated, which will silently send all the stolen data to themselves, in addition to the people using the phishing kit.

In 2021, Kaspersky detected 469 individual phishing kits, allowing it to block 1.2 million phishing websites.
