Container security firm Aqua Security on Wednesday announced that it has raised $135 million in a Series E funding round at a valuation that exceeds $1 billion, which makes the company a "Unicorn."
Since it was founded in 2015, Aqua Security has raised a total of $265 million.
It previously raised $25 million in 2017, $62 million in 2019, and $30 million in 2020.
The latest funding round was led by ION Crossover Partners, with participation from existing investors such as M12 Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Insight Partners, TLV Partners, Greenspring Associates, and Acrew Capital.
The company describes itself as a "Cloud native security company." Its offering includes container security, Kubernetes security, serverless security, virtual machine workload protection, cloud security posture management, container vulnerability scanning, and container threat analysis products.
