Apple pulls iCloud 12 for Windows 10 with Keychain sync feature

Apple has pulled iCloud 12 for Windows 10 from the Microsoft Store for what is believed to be issues with their new Chrome iCloud Keychain password synchronization feature.

On January 26th, Apple released iCloud 12 with a new 'Passwords' feature, that when enabled, prompts users to install an 'iCloud Passwords' extension to synchronize and automatically fill in passwords saved in the iCloud Keychain.

Today, Apple mysteriously pulled iCloud 12 for Windows 10 from the Microsoft Store and downgraded the available version to iCloud 11.6.32.0, as shown below.

As the iCloud Passwords extension requires iCloud 12, and it is no longer available, the extension displays a confusing error telling users to download iCloud for Windows.

At this point, users of the iCloud Passwords extension should hold off trying to use it until Apple rereleases iCloud 12.

BleepingComputer has contacted Apple with questions on why iCloud for Windows version 12 was removed but has not heard back.
