It turns out that Google, like Facebook, abused its Apple Enterprise Developer Certificate to distribute a data collection app to iOS users, in direct contravention of Apple’s rules for the distribution program. Unlike Facebook, though, the company did not wait for Apple to revoke their certificate. Instead, they quickly to disabled the app on iOS devices, admitted their mistake and extended a public apology to Apple.
