Chocolatey is a Windows package manager that lets you quickly install new software or prep a new Windows 10 installations with your favorite applications, all from the command line. Like every other package manager, Chocolatey is entirely a command-line tool where you have to type in the commands you wish to execute.
Microsoft has added a new group policy in Windows 10 20H2 that allows you to disable a new feature that customizes the taskbar based on what accounts or devices you have. In the Windows 10 Insider Build 20161, Microsoft introduced a new feature called "Programmable Taskbar" that customizes the Windows 10 taskbar when logging into an account for the first time.
Microsoft has acknowledged a new known issue causing forced restarts on Windows 10 20H2 devices due to the Local Security Authority Subsystem Service system process crashing. "To prevent the issue and not receive the safeguard hold, you will need to name all built-in user counts back to their default name before attempting to update to Windows 10, version 2004 or Windows 10, version 20H2," Microsoft says.
Microsoft says that devices running Windows 10 2004 or Windows 10 20H2 might crash with blue screens of death when users plug in a Thunderbolt NVMe Solid State Drive. Windows 10 devices with at least one Thunderbolt NVMe SSD and one Thunderbolt port are the ones impacted by this new known issue.
Microsoft says that it fixed a known issue affecting devices running Windows 10, version 2004 since June and causing external displays to go black when drawing in certain applications including Microsoft Office Word and Whiteboard. "If you have a device running Windows 10 version 2004 with a built-in screen and a connected external display set to Duplicate your primary screen, you might see both monitors flicker and the external monitor go black if you try to draw using an Office app," Microsoft said.
The Microsoft Tips app has leaked more evidence that Microsoft is working on rounded corners for Windows 10 windows. For some time, Microsoft has been adding rounded corners to dialog boxes in Windows 10 apps such as Photos, Maps, Calculator, and the new Microsoft Edge.
Microsoft today reminded customers that some editions of Windows 10, version 1809 will reach its end of service next week. "On November 10, 2020, the Home, Pro, Pro for Workstation, and IoT Core editions of Windows 10, version 1809 will reach end of service," Microsoft explains on the Windows 10 1809 Health Dashboard.
Microsoft is investigating a known issue leading to missing system and user certificates after updating certain managed Windows 10 systems using outdated installation media through update management tools, physical media, or ISO images. "System and user certificates might be lost when updating a device from Windows 10, version 1809 or later to a later version of Windows 10," Microsoft explains.
