Norway's domestic spy agency on Tuesday blamed a Russian hacker group linked to Moscow's military intelligence for a cyberattack on the Norwegian parliament earlier this year. Norwegian Foreign Minister Ine Eriksen Soreide later accused Russia of being behind the attack, and PST investigators have now strengthened her claims.
Russian-backed hacking group APT28 has likely brute-forced multiple Norwegian Parliament email accounts on August 24, 2020, according to the Norwegian Police Security Service. One month later, Norway's Minister of Foreign Affairs Ine Eriksen Søreide shared additional info on the August Parliament attack saying that Russian hackers were responsible for the breach.
Norway's government on Tuesday said that it believes Russia was behind an August cyber attack targeting the email system of the country's parliament. The attack was detected in August, when Norway announced hackers had attacked the parliament's email system, gaining access to some lawmakers' messages.

Norway's parliament said Tuesday it had been the target of a "Vast" cyber attack that enabled hackers to access the emails of some lawmakers. "The parliament has recently been targetted in a vast cyber attack," the institution wrote in a statement.
Amnesty International warned Tuesday that contact-tracing technology developed to contain the novel coronavirus threatens users' privacy, highlighting Bahraini, Kuwaiti and Norwegian apps as "Among the most dangerous".
