Elliptic Labs announced that Lars Holmøy is appointed as the new CFO and Investor Relations effective June 1, 2021. Holmøy will succeed Thor A. Talhaug, who has been engaged as CFO for hire since 2019.
Movandi announced William Ruehle has joined as its chief financial officer. Ruehle brings more than 40 years of experience driving strategy and business performance at both public and private companies as well as scaling high-growth revenue and leading successful companies to IPO, most notably Broadcom from 1997-2006.
As the pandemic continues to challenge organizations worldwide, the role of chief financial officers has moved further beyond "Economic guardians" of the enterprise to "Architects of business value" and "Catalysts of digital strategies," with 72% of CFOs reporting that they have the final say on the appropriate technology direction of the enterprise, according to a research from Accenture. "The role of the CFO has further evolved beyond serving as the finance lead to becoming a 'digital steward' of their organization. Increasingly, CFOs are focused on collecting and interpreting data for key business decisions and enabling strategy beyond the borders of the finance function," said Christian Campagna, Ph.D., senior managing director and global lead of the CFO & Enterprise Value practice at Accenture.

CFOs are taking on greater strategic and enterprise-building roles after guiding their organizations through the challenges of COVID-19. CFO Research of Argyle Advisory & Research Services and FTI Consulting surveyed 325 corporate finance executives to better understand how CFOs and the finance function drive enterprise value.
Europe was flat at 5% and 37%, respectively, and China improved markedly to 47% and 60%. On a positive note, 76% of CFOs expect the U.S. economy to improve in 2021 - reassuring but not surprising given how it fared in 2020. Only 19% expect the economy to grow faster over the next five years than pre-pandemic - when the economy was slowing.
Aviatrix announced that Cyrous Jamé will join the company as CFO. Jamé was formerly the head of finance for Google Play, and also held finance leadership positions in ads, media and consumer hardware at Google over the last ten years. Deep Instinct announced that Heather Bellini will join as CFO. Bellini was formerly a managing director and partner at Goldman Sachs, leading its Technology Research Group as well as an equity research analyst covering the software sector and select Internet-related companies. "Heather established a phenomenal track record at Goldman Sachs, is highly regarded and well known and joins us as we're on a strong path to becoming the most comprehensive, integrated and innovative deep neural network cybersecurity company in the world," said Guy Caspi, CEO and co-founder of Deep Instinct.
SentinelOne announced the appointment of David Bernhardt as CFO. Drawing upon more than 20 years of SaaS experience in financial operations management of pre- and post-IPO companies, Mr. Bernhardt will support SentinelOne's rapid growth in the endpoint, cloud, and IoT security markets as it enters the next phase of its development. "Our ability to consistently innovate and execute on both technology and go-to-market has attracted more than 4,000 customers to choose SentinelOne in record time," said Tomer Weingarten, Co-founder and CEO, SentinelOne.
Adams joins BitSight from biotechnology company ObsEva where he held the same role, while Roxe most recently served as Vice President of Product Marketing, Adoption and Operations at healthcare IT firm athenahealth. "Tim and Jay both bring a wealth of experience, leadership and proven track records of results in their respective fields that will help shape the company as we build for scale in the years ahead," said Stephen Harvey, CEO, BitSight.
