2020-10-05 11:52

Industrial automation giant Rockwell Automation on Friday announced the acquisition of Oylo, a cybersecurity company based in Spain.

Founded in 2017, Oylo has been offering solutions for industrial control systems and IoT security, business continuity and resilience, and critical infrastructure and critical business process protection.

"As connected smart devices are introduced into the plant floor, having a comprehensive cyber security strategy that spans across industrial operational technology and information technology is more critical now than ever before. We are dedicated to the success of our customers in their Connected Enterprise journey, and the deep domain expertise that Oylo brings to Rockwell Automation will further accelerate our ability to provide this expertise globally," said Frank Kulaszewicz, senior vice president of Lifecycle Services at Rockwell.

Earlier this year, Rockwell announced the acquisition of Avnet Data Security, an Israel-based cybersecurity company specializing in solutions for both IT and OT. Rockwell said the deal would help it expand its cybersecurity expertise.

Rockwell now says Oylo's OT security expertise will complement the IT security expertise obtained through the acquisition of Avnet.
