Deal Prepped With Feds and State Attorneys General, Wall Street Journal ReportsCredit reporting giant Equifax is negotiating a settlement of approximately $700 million to resolve federal and state probes into its massive 2017 data breach, as well as a nationwide class action lawsuit. Together with incident response and a security program reboot, its breach tab is likely to exceed $2 billion.
