Security News > 2024 > July > Embedding AI security from the get go
Research suggests there will be just 250m users of AI enabled applications and services this year, a number which will double by 2027 and hit 1bn by 2029 as companies find new, more innovative ways to harness the technology.
While the number of native AI applications currently available is around 2,000, a lot more are in the pipeline.
Which is likely to mean a larger volume of more efficient cyber attacks designed to steal and disrupt mission critical data and services are on the way.
Nikesh provides an interesting snapshot of current AI usage and development, and goes on to explain how organizations can harness the power of AI and ML to strengthen their cyber defenses.
What's needed, says Nikesh, is more better visibility, control and governance to make sure the benefits of AI can be fully enjoyed without any of the risks.
That's partially enabled by making sure that applications designed for the AI world are secure by design from their inception.
