2024-06-25 16:00

Nearly half of Americans, 46%, have had a password stolen in the past year.

This TechRepublic Premium guide, written by Kara Sherrer, outlines 16 best practices users can follow at work and at home to improve the security of their passwords and safeguard their log-in credentials against bad actors.

Using a virtual private network can provide some extra layer of protection, but certain websites may block you from logging in while using a VPN. Also be aware of who may be looking over your shoulder, and never enter your log-in or financial information where someone might be able to see your password on your screen.
