Edgecore Networks released a new open router product family.

The AS7926-40XKFB 100G Aggregation Router solution enables carriers to upgrade their network infrastructure to address the challenges of 5G deployment and the tremendous traffic growth from the network edge to the core.

"Edgecore's new core router family delivers the industry's best-in-class solution for the next generation of cloud router and service provider infrastructure. This solution helps carriers upgrade their network infrastructure to address the network challenges of 5G deployment. Together with software partners, Edgecore Networks delivers leading open disaggregated network solutions, as well as enabling value-added application development," said Matt Roman, VP of Marketing and Product Management, Edgecore Networks.

"Edgecore's new high-capacity disaggregated router solution provides network operators with a carrier-grade, 5G optimized solution for core networks. Network Operators worldwide are starting to embrace open network hardware and software solutions to meet their demanding network expansion requirements. Disaggregated routing will make up an increasing percentage of the market each year and expand to SPs throughout the world," said Alan Weckel, Technology Analyst of 650 Group.

"Leveraging the high-performance AS7926-40XKFB router from Edgecore Networks together with our own software, we are very pleased to establish the successful trial of a distributed chassis architecture between Suzhou and Nanking Labs, connecting the cities with a high-performance network. During our testing and trial, the product showed its quality design and high performance, meeting our future expansion plans," said Wang Shuo, Assistant Professor of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Leader of New Bearer Network Research Group, Future Network Center of Purple Mountain Laboratories, China.

"DriveNets is pleased to see the availability of Edgecore open router family, AS7926-40XKFB. The expanded portfolio of routing white boxes enriches the open networking eco-system which started with the Distributed Disaggregated Router work supported by Open Compute Project, and DriveNets Network Cloud's vision of 'building networks like cloud'. The new solution from Edgecore offers communications and cloud service providers greater choice and flexibility in building modern networking infrastructures for the cloud- and mobile- centric world," said Yuval Moshe, VP Product at DriveNets.
