While there is awareness of password security best practices, there is still work to be done to put that awareness to full use, a Bitwarden survey reveals.

While Americans are more likely to report being affected by a data breach in the last 18 months, 1 in 3 are more interested in having a password that is easy to remember versus being secure.

The good news about password security best practices 60% of Americans have an average password length of 9-15 characters.

Americans are more likely to use a password manager than the rest of the globe.

While 66% of Americans are not required to use a password manager at work, 73% of Americans think their workplace should provide a password manager at work, which is higher than the rest of the globe.

"It's encouraging to see so many people reporting familiarity with password management best practices," said Bitwarden CEO Michael Crandell.
