Siemens this week announced that it is acquiring UltraSoC Technologies, a provider of embedded analytics and monitoring solutions for systems-on-chip.
Founded in 2006 and based in Cambridge, UK, UltraSoC delivers instrumentation and analytics solutions embedding monitoring, cybersecurity and functional safety capabilities into core SoC hardware.
Siemens plans to integrate UltraSoC's technology into its Xcelerator portfolio, as part of the Mentor Tessent software suite, which is renowned for its SoC design-for-test solutions.
"By utilizing design augmentation to detect, mitigate and eliminate risks throughout the SoC lifecycle, customers can radically improve time-to-revenue, product quality & safety, and profitability. UltraSoC has a fast-growing business and impressive customer list and, as part of Siemens, can complement Tessent to create a truly unique offering in the market," Brady Benware, Tessent Vice President and General Manager, Siemens Digital Industries Software, commented.
Siemens expects to complete the acquisition of UltraSoC in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2020.
