PlentyofFish.com founder Markus Frind claims his site has been hacked and he has been blackmailed. But the accused hacker, Chris Russo, says it was merely a way of exposing bad security of personal information on a dating site with almost 30 million global users, including about 350,000 monthly visitors in Australia. It is not clear if Markus Frind has gone to police about the attack, which Russo conducted after creating an account using his real name, but Frind said he had contacted the 23-year-old Argentinian hacker's mother - though why is unclear. Frind wrote a long blog post in which he claims Russo initially tried to blame the hack on Russian gangsters, who had taken over his computer and wanted to "kill" him. Frind said Russo later demanded he pay him and a partner hundreds of thousands of dollars a year for security advice.
