2024-04-03 | CVE-2024-26732 | Improper Locking vulnerability in Linux Kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: implement lockless setsockopt(SO_PEEK_OFF) syzbot reported a lockdep violation [1] involving af_unix support of SO_PEEK_OFF. Since SO_PEEK_OFF is inherently not thread safe (it uses a per-socket sk_peek_off field), there is really no point to enforce a pointless thread safety in the kernel. After this patch : - setsockopt(SO_PEEK_OFF) no longer acquires the socket lock. - skb_consume_udp() no longer has to acquire the socket lock. - af_unix no longer needs a special version of sk_set_peek_off(), because it does not lock u->iolock anymore. As a followup, we could replace prot->set_peek_off to be a boolean and avoid an indirect call, since we always use sk_set_peek_off(). 2024-04-03 | CVE-2024-26740 | Improper Locking vulnerability in Linux Kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: act_mirred: use the backlog for mirred ingress The test Davide added in commit ca22da2fbd69 ("act_mirred: use the backlog for nested calls to mirred ingress") hangs our testing VMs every 10 or so runs, with the familiar tcp_v4_rcv -> tcp_v4_rcv deadlock reported by lockdep. The problem as previously described by Davide (see Link) is that if we reverse flow of traffic with the redirect (egress -> ingress) we may reach the same socket which generated the packet. | 5.5 |
2024-04-03 | CVE-2024-26741 | Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in Linux Kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dccp/tcp: Unhash sk from ehash for tb2 alloc failure after check_estalblished(). syzkaller reported a warning [0] in inet_csk_destroy_sock() with no repro. WARN_ON(inet_sk(sk)->inet_num && !inet_csk(sk)->icsk_bind_hash); However, the syzkaller's log hinted that connect() failed just before the warning due to FAULT_INJECTION. | 5.5 |

2024-04-03 | CVE-2024-26751 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ARM: ep93xx: Add terminator to gpiod_lookup_table Without the terminator, if a con_id is passed to gpio_find() that does not exist in the lookup table the function will not stop looping correctly, and eventually cause an oops. | 5.5 |
2024-04-03 | CVE-2024-26752 | Incorrect Calculation of Buffer Size vulnerability in multiple products In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: l2tp: pass correct message length to ip6_append_data l2tp_ip6_sendmsg needs to avoid accounting for the transport header twice when splicing more data into an already partially-occupied skbuff. To manage this, we check whether the skbuff contains data using skb_queue_empty when deciding how much data to append using ip6_append_data. However, the code which performed the calculation was incorrect: ulen = len + skb_queue_empty(&sk->sk_write_queue) ? transhdrlen : 0; ...due to C operator precedence, this ends up setting ulen to transhdrlen for messages with a non-zero length, which results in corrupted packets on the wire. Add parentheses to correct the calculation in line with the original intent. | 5.5 |
2024-04-03 | CVE-2024-26756 | Incomplete Cleanup vulnerability in Linux Kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: md: Don't register sync_thread for reshape directly Currently, if reshape is interrupted, then reassemble the array will register sync_thread directly from pers->run(), in this case 'MD_RECOVERY_RUNNING' is set directly, however, there is no guarantee that md_do_sync() will be executed, hence stop_sync_thread() will hang because 'MD_RECOVERY_RUNNING' can't be cleared. Last patch make sure that md_do_sync() will set MD_RECOVERY_DONE, however, following hang can still be triggered by dm-raid test shell/lvconvert-raid-reshape.sh occasionally: [root@fedora ~]# cat /proc/1982/stack [<0>] stop_sync_thread+0x1ab/0x270 [md_mod] [<0>] md_frozen_sync_thread+0x5c/0xa0 [md_mod] [<0>] raid_presuspend+0x1e/0x70 [dm_raid] [<0>] dm_table_presuspend_targets+0x40/0xb0 [dm_mod] [<0>] __dm_destroy+0x2a5/0x310 [dm_mod] [<0>] dm_destroy+0x16/0x30 [dm_mod] [<0>] dev_remove+0x165/0x290 [dm_mod] [<0>] ctl_ioctl+0x4bb/0x7b0 [dm_mod] [<0>] dm_ctl_ioctl+0x11/0x20 [dm_mod] [<0>] vfs_ioctl+0x21/0x60 [<0>] __x64_sys_ioctl+0xb9/0xe0 [<0>] do_syscall_64+0xc6/0x230 [<0>] entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x6c/0x74 Meanwhile mddev->recovery is: MD_RECOVERY_RUNNING | MD_RECOVERY_INTR | MD_RECOVERY_RESHAPE | MD_RECOVERY_FROZEN Fix this problem by remove the code to register sync_thread directly from raid10 and raid5. | 5.5 |
