2024-09-04 | CVE-2024-44966 | Unspecified vulnerability in Linux Kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: binfmt_flat: Fix corruption when not offsetting data start Commit 04d82a6d0881 ("binfmt_flat: allow not offsetting data start") introduced a RISC-V specific variant of the FLAT format which does not allocate any space for the (obsolete) array of shared library pointers. | 5.5 |
2024-09-04 | CVE-2024-44969 | Memory Leak vulnerability in Linux Kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/sclp: Prevent release of buffer in I/O When a task waiting for completion of a Store Data operation is interrupted, an attempt is made to halt this operation. | 5.5 |
2024-09-04 | CVE-2024-44970 | Unspecified vulnerability in Linux Kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5e: SHAMPO, Fix invalid WQ linked list unlink When all the strides in a WQE have been consumed, the WQE is unlinked from the WQ linked list (mlx5_wq_ll_pop()). | 5.5 |
2024-09-04 | CVE-2024-44971 | Memory Leak vulnerability in Linux Kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: dsa: bcm_sf2: Fix a possible memory leak in bcm_sf2_mdio_register() bcm_sf2_mdio_register() calls of_phy_find_device() and then phy_device_remove() in a loop to remove existing PHY devices. of_phy_find_device() eventually calls bus_find_device(), which calls get_device() on the returned struct device * to increment the refcount. The current implementation does not decrement the refcount, which causes memory leak. This commit adds the missing phy_device_free() call to decrement the refcount via put_device() to balance the refcount. | 5.5 |
2024-09-04 | CVE-2024-44972 | Unspecified vulnerability in Linux Kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: do not clear page dirty inside extent_write_locked_range() [BUG] For subpage + zoned case, the following workload can lead to rsv data leak at unmount time: # mkfs.btrfs -f -s 4k $dev # mount $dev $mnt # fsstress -w -n 8 -d $mnt -s 1709539240 0/0: fiemap - no filename 0/1: copyrange read - no filename 0/2: write - no filename 0/3: rename - no source filename 0/4: creat f0 x:0 0 0 0/4: creat add id=0,parent=-1 0/5: writev f0[259 1 0 0 0 0] [778052,113,965] 0 0/6: ioctl(FIEMAP) f0[259 1 0 0 224 887097] [1294220,2291618343991484791,0x10000] -1 0/7: dwrite - xfsctl(XFS_IOC_DIOINFO) f0[259 1 0 0 224 887097] return 25, fallback to stat() 0/7: dwrite f0[259 1 0 0 224 887097] [696320,102400] 0 # umount $mnt The dmesg includes the following rsv leak detection warning (all call trace skipped): ------------[ cut here ]------------ WARNING: CPU: 2 PID: 4528 at fs/btrfs/inode.c:8653 btrfs_destroy_inode+0x1e0/0x200 [btrfs] ---[ end trace 0000000000000000 ]--- ------------[ cut here ]------------ WARNING: CPU: 2 PID: 4528 at fs/btrfs/inode.c:8654 btrfs_destroy_inode+0x1a8/0x200 [btrfs] ---[ end trace 0000000000000000 ]--- ------------[ cut here ]------------ WARNING: CPU: 2 PID: 4528 at fs/btrfs/inode.c:8660 btrfs_destroy_inode+0x1a0/0x200 [btrfs] ---[ end trace 0000000000000000 ]--- BTRFS info (device sda): last unmount of filesystem 1b4abba9-de34-4f07-9e7f-157cf12a18d6 ------------[ cut here ]------------ WARNING: CPU: 3 PID: 4528 at fs/btrfs/block-group.c:4434 btrfs_free_block_groups+0x338/0x500 [btrfs] ---[ end trace 0000000000000000 ]--- BTRFS info (device sda): space_info DATA has 268218368 free, is not full BTRFS info (device sda): space_info total=268435456, used=204800, pinned=0, reserved=0, may_use=12288, readonly=0 zone_unusable=0 BTRFS info (device sda): global_block_rsv: size 0 reserved 0 BTRFS info (device sda): trans_block_rsv: size 0 reserved 0 BTRFS info (device sda): chunk_block_rsv: size 0 reserved 0 BTRFS info (device sda): delayed_block_rsv: size 0 reserved 0 BTRFS info (device sda): delayed_refs_rsv: size 0 reserved 0 ------------[ cut here ]------------ WARNING: CPU: 3 PID: 4528 at fs/btrfs/block-group.c:4434 btrfs_free_block_groups+0x338/0x500 [btrfs] ---[ end trace 0000000000000000 ]--- BTRFS info (device sda): space_info METADATA has 267796480 free, is not full BTRFS info (device sda): space_info total=268435456, used=131072, pinned=0, reserved=0, may_use=262144, readonly=0 zone_unusable=245760 BTRFS info (device sda): global_block_rsv: size 0 reserved 0 BTRFS info (device sda): trans_block_rsv: size 0 reserved 0 BTRFS info (device sda): chunk_block_rsv: size 0 reserved 0 BTRFS info (device sda): delayed_block_rsv: size 0 reserved 0 BTRFS info (device sda): delayed_refs_rsv: size 0 reserved 0 Above $dev is a tcmu-runner emulated zoned HDD, which has a max zone append size of 64K, and the system has 64K page size. 2024-09-02 | CVE-2024-44947 | Improper Initialization vulnerability in Linux Kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fuse: Initialize beyond-EOF page contents before setting uptodate fuse_notify_store(), unlike fuse_do_readpage(), does not enable page zeroing (because it can be used to change partial page contents). So fuse_notify_store() must be more careful to fully initialize page contents (including parts of the page that are beyond end-of-file) before marking the page uptodate. The current code can leave beyond-EOF page contents uninitialized, which makes these uninitialized page contents visible to userspace via mmap(). This is an information leak, but only affects systems which do not enable init-on-alloc (via CONFIG_INIT_ON_ALLOC_DEFAULT_ON=y or the corresponding kernel command line parameter). | 5.5 |
2024-08-31 | CVE-2024-44946 | Use After Free vulnerability in Linux Kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: kcm: Serialise kcm_sendmsg() for the same socket. syzkaller reported UAF in kcm_release(). | 5.5 |
2024-08-30 | CVE-2022-48944 | Unspecified vulnerability in Linux Kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sched: Fix yet more sched_fork() races Where commit 4ef0c5c6b5ba ("kernel/sched: Fix sched_fork() access an invalid sched_task_group") fixed a fork race vs cgroup, it opened up a race vs syscalls by not placing the task on the runqueue before it gets exposed through the pidhash. Commit 13765de8148f ("sched/fair: Fix fault in reweight_entity") is trying to fix a single instance of this, instead fix the whole class of issues, effectively reverting this commit. | 5.5 |
2024-08-30 | CVE-2024-44944 | Memory Leak vulnerability in Linux Kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: ctnetlink: use helper function to calculate expect ID Delete expectation path is missing a call to the nf_expect_get_id() helper function to calculate the expectation ID, otherwise LSB of the expectation object address is leaked to userspace. | 5.5 |
2024-08-26 | CVE-2024-44938 | Out-of-bounds Write vulnerability in Linux Kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: jfs: Fix shift-out-of-bounds in dbDiscardAG When searching for the next smaller log2 block, BLKSTOL2() returned 0, causing shift exponent -1 to be negative. This patch fixes the issue by exiting the loop directly when negative shift is found. | 5.5 |
