2024-10-21 CVE-2024-47735 Improper Locking vulnerability in Linux Kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/hns: Fix spin_unlock_irqrestore() called with IRQs enabled Fix missuse of spin_lock_irq()/spin_unlock_irq() when spin_lock_irqsave()/spin_lock_irqrestore() was hold. This was discovered through the lock debugging, and the corresponding log is as follows: raw_local_irq_restore() called with IRQs enabled WARNING: CPU: 96 PID: 2074 at kernel/locking/irqflag-debug.c:10 warn_bogus_irq_restore+0x30/0x40 ... 2024-10-21 CVE-2024-47736 Improper Locking vulnerability in Linux Kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: erofs: handle overlapped pclusters out of crafted images properly syzbot reported a task hang issue due to a deadlock case where it is waiting for the folio lock of a cached folio that will be used for cache I/Os. After looking into the crafted fuzzed image, I found it's formed with several overlapped big pclusters as below: Ext: logical offset | length : physical offset | length 0: 0..

2024-10-21 CVE-2024-47737 NULL Pointer Dereference vulnerability in Linux Kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: call cache_put if xdr_reserve_space returns NULL If not enough buffer space available, but idmap_lookup has triggered lookup_fn which calls cache_get and returns successfully.

2024-10-21 CVE-2024-47738 Unspecified vulnerability in Linux Kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: don't use rate mask for offchannel TX either Like the commit ab9177d83c04 ("wifi: mac80211: don't use rate mask for scanning"), ignore incorrect settings to avoid no supported rate warning reported by syzbot. The syzbot did bisect and found cause is commit 9df66d5b9f45 ("cfg80211: fix default HE tx bitrate mask in 2G band"), which however corrects bitmask of HE MCS and recognizes correctly settings of empty legacy rate plus HE MCS rate instead of returning -EINVAL. As suggestions [1], follow the change of SCAN TX to consider this case of offchannel TX as well. 2024-10-21 CVE-2024-47739 Integer Overflow or Wraparound vulnerability in Linux Kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: padata: use integer wrap around to prevent deadlock on seq_nr overflow When submitting more than 2^32 padata objects to padata_do_serial, the current sorting implementation incorrectly sorts padata objects with overflowed seq_nr, causing them to be placed before existing objects in the reorder list.

2024-10-21 CVE-2024-47742 Path Traversal vulnerability in Linux Kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: firmware_loader: Block path traversal Most firmware names are hardcoded strings, or are constructed from fairly constrained format strings where the dynamic parts are just some hex numbers or such. However, there are a couple codepaths in the kernel where firmware file names contain string components that are passed through from a device or semi-privileged userspace; the ones I could find (not counting interfaces that require root privileges) are: - lpfc_sli4_request_firmware_update() seems to construct the firmware filename from "ModelName", a string that was previously parsed out of some descriptor ("Vital Product Data") in lpfc_fill_vpd() - nfp_net_fw_find() seems to construct a firmware filename from a model name coming from nfp_hwinfo_lookup(pf->hwinfo, "nffw.partno"), which I think parses some descriptor that was read from the device. (But this case likely isn't exploitable because the format string looks like "netronome/nic_%s", and there shouldn't be any *folders* starting with "netronome/nic_".

2024-10-21 CVE-2024-47745 Always-Incorrect Control Flow Implementation vulnerability in Linux Kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm: call the security_mmap_file() LSM hook in remap_file_pages() The remap_file_pages syscall handler calls do_mmap() directly, which doesn't contain the LSM security check.

2024-10-21 CVE-2024-47748 Use After Free vulnerability in Linux Kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vhost_vdpa: assign irq bypass producer token correctly We used to call irq_bypass_unregister_producer() in vhost_vdpa_setup_vq_irq() which is problematic as we don't know if the token pointer is still valid or not. Actually, we use the eventfd_ctx as the token so the life cycle of the token should be bound to the VHOST_SET_VRING_CALL instead of vhost_vdpa_setup_vq_irq() which could be called by set_status(). Fixing this by setting up irq bypass producer's token when handling VHOST_SET_VRING_CALL and un-registering the producer before calling vhost_vring_ioctl() to prevent a possible use after free as eventfd could have been released in vhost_vring_ioctl().
