2024-08-08 CVE-2024-42253 Improper Locking vulnerability in Linux Kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gpio: pca953x: fix pca953x_irq_bus_sync_unlock race Ensure that `i2c_lock' is held when setting interrupt latch and mask in pca953x_irq_bus_sync_unlock() in order to avoid races. The other (non-probe) call site pca953x_gpio_set_multiple() ensures the lock is held before calling pca953x_write_regs(). The problem occurred when a request raced against irq_bus_sync_unlock() approximately once per thousand reboots on an i.MX8MP based system. * Normal case 0-0022: write register AI|3a {03,02,00,00,01} Input latch P0 0-0022: write register AI|49 {fc,fd,ff,ff,fe} Interrupt mask P0 0-0022: write register AI|08 {ff,00,00,00,00} Output P3 0-0022: write register AI|12 {fc,00,00,00,00} Config P3 * Race case 0-0022: write register AI|08 {ff,00,00,00,00} Output P3 0-0022: write register AI|08 {03,02,00,00,01} *** Wrong register *** 0-0022: write register AI|12 {fc,00,00,00,00} Config P3 0-0022: write register AI|49 {fc,fd,ff,ff,fe} Interrupt mask P0

2024-08-07 CVE-2024-42232 Use After Free vulnerability in Linux Kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libceph: fix race between delayed_work() and ceph_monc_stop() The way the delayed work is handled in ceph_monc_stop() is prone to races with mon_fault() and possibly also finish_hunting().

2024-08-07 CVE-2024-42236 Out-of-bounds Write vulnerability in Linux Kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: gadget: configfs: Prevent OOB read/write in usb_string_copy() Userspace provided string 's' could trivially have the length zero.

2024-08-07 CVE-2024-42237 Excessive Iteration vulnerability in Linux Kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: firmware: cs_dsp: Validate payload length before processing block Move the payload length check in cs_dsp_load() and cs_dsp_coeff_load() to be done before the block is processed. The check that the length of a block payload does not exceed the number of remaining bytes in the firwmware file buffer was being done near the end of the loop iteration.

2024-08-07 CVE-2024-42244 Unspecified vulnerability in Linux Kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: serial: mos7840: fix crash on resume Since commit c49cfa917025 ("USB: serial: use generic method if no alternative is provided in usb serial layer"), USB serial core calls the generic resume implementation when the driver has not provided one. This can trigger a crash on resume with mos7840 since support for multiple read URBs was added back in 2011.

2024-07-30 CVE-2024-42101 NULL Pointer Dereference vulnerability in Linux Kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/nouveau: fix null pointer dereference in nouveau_connector_get_modes In nouveau_connector_get_modes(), the return value of drm_mode_duplicate() is assigned to mode, which will lead to a possible NULL pointer dereference on failure of drm_mode_duplicate().

2024-07-30 CVE-2024-42104 Use After Free vulnerability in Linux Kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nilfs2: add missing check for inode numbers on directory entries Syzbot reported that mounting and unmounting a specific pattern of corrupted nilfs2 filesystem images causes a use-after-free of metadata file inodes, which triggers a kernel bug in lru_add_fn(). As Jan Kara pointed out, this is because the link count of a metadata file gets corrupted to 0, and nilfs_evict_inode(), which is called from iput(), tries to delete that inode (ifile inode in this case). The inconsistency occurs because directories containing the inode numbers of these metadata files that should not be visible in the namespace are read without checking. Fix this issue by treating the inode numbers of these internal files as errors in the sanity check helper when reading directory folios/pages. Also thanks to Hillf Danton and Matthew Wilcox for their initial mm-layer analysis.

2024-07-30 CVE-2024-42123 Double Free vulnerability in Linux Kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: fix double free err_addr pointer warnings In amdgpu_umc_bad_page_polling_timeout, the amdgpu_umc_handle_bad_pages will be run many times so that double free err_addr in some special case. So set the err_addr to NULL to avoid the warnings.

2024-07-30 CVE-2024-42131 Integer Overflow or Wraparound vulnerability in Linux Kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm: avoid overflows in dirty throttling logic The dirty throttling logic is interspersed with assumptions that dirty limits in PAGE_SIZE units fit into 32-bit (so that various multiplications fit into 64-bits).
