SaaS security company Grip Security on Tuesday emerged from stealth mode and announced raising $6 million in seed funding.

Grip Security has developed a platform that is designed to help organizations discover, monitor and secure their SaaS applications, regardless of where they are located and what types of devices they are running on.

The company claims its platform is easy to deploy, it doesn't impact performance, and it can be used either on its own or to complement an existing cloud access security broker solution.

Grip Security says its solution provides comprehensive coverage of SaaS applications, historical visibility into the usage of such apps, insights into the risks posed by SaaS applications, and deep analysis of apps, users and activity.

Grip Security was founded by Lior Yaari, who will serve as CEO, Idan Fast, who will serve as CTO, and Alon Shenkler, the company's VP of R&D. The seed funding round was led by YL Ventures, with participation from George Kurtz, CEO and co-founder of CrowdStrike; Andy Ellis, former CSO of Akamai; Michael Sutton, former CISO of Zscaler; Sounil Yu, former chief security scientist at Bank of America; Omkhar Arasaratnam, former executive director of data protection engineering at JPMorgan Chase; Sameer Sait, CISO at Amazon's Whole Foods; Adi Sharabani, former SVP & GM of endpoint solutions at Symantec; and others.
