Logz.io announces support for OpenSearch project, an open source fork of Elasticsearch and Kibana
2021-04-14 23:00

Logz.io announced its support for the OpenSearch project, the new fork of the Elasticsearch and Kibana codebases recently unveiled by AWS. Logz.io has been working closely with AWS and several other partners to help define the future path and roadmap for the project.

Logz.io is confident that the community-based nature of the project will ensure users continue to have a secure, high-quality, fully open source based search and analytics suite with a rich roadmap of new and innovative functionality.

The announcement of OpenSearch and OpenSearch Dashboards comes on the heels of Elastic's announcement of its intention to transition Elasticsearch and Kibana to a proprietary dual license.

Since that date, Logz.io and the open source community have been working collaboratively to make it easy for as many people and organizations as possible to use OpenSearch in their business, their products, and their projects.

The new project is community-driven, with Logz.io, AWS and other partners who are committed to supporting, safeguarding and innovating within these essential open source projects as a community endeavor, where anyone can contribute to it, influence it, and make decisions together about its future.

"We are excited to officially announce our support for, and play a major role in contributing to, the OpenSearch community projects," said Tomer Levy, CEO of Logz.io.
