Robinhood Taps Caleb Sima to Lead Security
2021-02-23 01:27

Veteran cybersecurity practitioner, entrepreneur and executive Caleb Sima has been tapped to lead security at mobile stock trading startup Robinhood.

Sima, a security leader with an established presence in cybersecurity for more than two decades, announced the move on LinkedIn.

He will be joining investing firm Robinhood as Chief Security Officer.

Sima was most recently VP of Security at Databricks and, before that, he managed security engineering, architecture, red team and vulnerability management at Capital One.

In the early 2000s, Sima co-founded application security startup SPI Dynamics and sold it to HP. He also co-founded Bluebox Security, a mobile security play that was acquired by Lookout in 2016.

The news of Sima's hiring comes on the same day Reddit announced it had snagged Bank of America security executive Allison Miller to be its Chief Information Security Officer.
