Security News > 2020 > October > Mozilla slows Firefox 82 update due to printing issues, crashes

Mozilla has slowed the rollout of Firefox 82 just two days after its release due to printing bugs and crashes in the new version.
Mozilla Firefox 82 was released on October 20th, with only a few improvements in performance and its Picture-in-Picture feature.
As first reported by TechDows, since the release of Firefox 82, there have been numerous bug reports stating that the browser is now printing blank receipts to receipt printers [1, 2, 3, 4]. A fix for this issue is currently being tested in Firefox 83 Beta.
In addition to the printing issues, Mozilla is investigating crashes when Firefox is started that appear to be related to conflicts with installed AV software [1, 2, 3]. There are no immediate plans to release a new version yet or information on when Firefox 82's rollout will continue.
