The claim relates to an acknowledged intrusion into the aph.gov.au email network, used by all parliamentarians for their less confidential work. Two weeks ago MPs were warned by the electronic spy agency, the Defence Signals Directorate, that foreign hackers had stolen several thousand emails from the Prime Minister and nine other ministers. Yesterday The West Australian reported that ASIO was particularly concerned about the theft of emails between ministers and large Australian resource companies doing business with the Chinese government.
