http://www.telekomnet.com/writer_telekomnet/2-6-01_securesoft.asp By TelekomNet Feb. 6, 2001 Securesoft Systems has integrated NetVault backup and restore program of BakBone into its security management software. Securesoft's SSI Immunity Security Management Suite is widely used by health care providers. The incorporation of NetVault into this program will allow health care providers to meet the requirements of the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. "The ability to seamlessly implement the functions of the growing number of security products, procedures and functions, such as backup and restore, has been the missing link in the security of medical records and privacy," said Winn Schwartau, president of Interpact, a security consulting firm. Recent tests integrating BakBone's NetVault in the SSI Data Center proved the software was simple to use and powerful enough to handle large amounts of data, said Christopher Berlandier, chief technology officer of Securesoft. "We confirmed that NetVault meets both HIPAA regulations and common sense requirements to improve HIPAA readiness and streamline disaster recovery and the traditional contingency planning requirements." Securesoft Systems, based in Laguna Hills, Calif., develops and provides security software and services. BakBone, based in San Diego, Calif., provides data protection and management software.
